Comfort can feel like wisdom, especially when you’ve built a life that looks successful on paper. But what happens when your spirit keeps whispering, “This isn’t it”?
Sylvia Worsham sits down with Caleb Matthews to talk about the crossroads moments that force a decision: cling to control, approval, and achievement or surrender to God’s voice and step into purpose.
We trace how calling often leaves clues early, through childhood interests, storytelling, and the “fearless” layer most of us had before life piled on doubt. Caleb shares how dreams and the night season shaped his faith, why it matters to see ourselves as spirit, soul, and body, and how Hebrews 4 reframes rest as a daily practice of dependence. If you’re burned out, overachieving, or stuck in anxiety, this is a grounded conversation about slowing down enough to hear God clearly.
Then we go straight into the real fight: identity and spiritual warfare. We unpack why opposition can show up right before a breakthrough, how the enemy tries to question who you are, and why the Word of God and the Spirit work together to “evict” lies. Sylvia shares what it looked like to protect her home during a hard season, including simple Scripture-based boundaries that brought peace back to her family. We also touch on Caleb’s “DNA of design” framework and how naming your design can help you serve with clarity instead of striving.

If you’ve ever struggled with fear, doubt, or worry and wondering what your true purpose was all about, then this podcast is for you. In this show, your host, Sylvia Warsham, will interview elite experts and ordinary people that have created extraordinary lives. So here’s your host, Sylvia Warsham.
Hey Lightbringers, it’s Sylvia Warsham. Welcome to Release At Reveal Purpose. And today is Caleb Matthews. And when I read his biography on PodMatch, I was instantly intrigued because he views crossroads or pivotal moments, much like I do. Um, that it’s an opportunity that God gives us to shift the lens of our life into the person he created us to be. That’s in full alignment to the message I’ve been creating on this podcast, release out reveal purpose. So without further ado, Caleb, thank you so much for joining us on Release Out Reveal Purpose.
Celia, thank you for having me on the show. I’m really excited to have our conversation today, where it’s going to lead for the audience.
Yeah, and we know that the Holy Spirit really is the one in control. Uh, we’re both spirit-led individuals. I got that from the first moment I met you just about five minutes ago. And it’s a pretty instant um energy that I feel that’s one of my spiritual gifts. I don’t know how God has gifted you in your spiritual gifts, but it sounds like he’s gifted you very similarly to me. And so I know that this conversation is meant for many on the other side of it that look to the podcast, to you know what our dark chapters have taught us, what our joyful moments have taught us, and what our complete and total surrender to his plan looks like. So please honor us with your story of transformation.
Well, packing that into the time that we have, let’s just go right to it, right? And really the story of transformation for me began, I have to go back to the early years, and all of us have the early years. It’s what in the C Link is one of my four pillars called the eye of eye principle. And for all of us, that stands for the early years of entrepreneurship, of innovation. There’s always an early year development. In fact, in every one of us, as we’ve been created by God, those early years. One of my first memories was sitting on the front lawn with the neighbor’s black Labrador dog called Ace, reading children’s books. And he was one of my first captive audiences. So even at the age of seven, I was talking to Ace about stories. And fast forward now, I’m 38 years old, and we’re talking about stories on podcasting online with you, Sylvia, with your audience. Those early years are very developmental for me and for our audience and for you and for all of us as well. That’s why it’s so important for us to discover the answer behind these two questions. Why am I here and what’s my purpose? And the early years are really good, helpful indicators of starting that process.
It the image is, in fact, I’ve been discussing this just recently with several uh of my guests. When we’re children, we are fearless. We don’t have those layers of fear that we acquire over time.
And because we don’t have those layers, we have the ability to see our gifts very clearly before our parents modeling, before naysayers, before the experiences block and fear-based belief systems form, which you and I both know can happen after trauma early on in childhood. We know that belief systems are formed very early on, uh, from like inception to like seven years of age. So here we are at seven years old, having a captive audience of a black lab. I get that. I get that very much. So, what did what did God show you was your purpose when you were a young child?
Well, really, during those years, besides loving to talk and telling stories with my family, the neighbor, a dog, and my stuffed animal collection, which is another story in itself, have over 80 to 100 stuffed animals that would always share stories with me and my brothers. But really, during those creative elemental years was the beginning of the homeschooling era. Like my mother, she homeschooled me and my two older brothers, and I’m very thankful for it. I wouldn’t have it any other way because the kinesthetic learning in that homeschooling environment really raised me in the Hebraic method in the Bible, the scriptures and the stories of Joseph and Daniel and Jacob and all those men and women in the Bible who dreamed in history, like Harriet Tubman, who had visions and dreams in the night season. Some of the earliest memories I have, Sylvia, are dreams in the night season. Some of the earliest I can remember. If I close my eyes and like, wow, I remember that dream that was so significant that really taught me that oh, these stories where God is speaking isn’t just in the Bible or in storybooks or in history. It’s real, it’s tangible because God is spirit, it’s not just physical and mental, but ultimately it’s spirit, soul, and body. And unfortunately, most of our culture, most of the world gets it backwards because we’re not just soul and body, we’re not just dichotomous, we’re trichotomous, we’re created spirit, soul, and body. And that’s really the where the growing from where the framework begins. But the dreams in the early years in the night season, still dreaming now, was really, really developmental for me. God saying, Okay, I’m real, not just inside of a book. It’s not just because your parents passed on these faith principles. It’s it’s your faith, it’s what you’ve seen in the night season and in the daytime. That’s why it’s called see links, sea link, you know, seeing these links, the night season is part of that, history is part of that, our story is part of that.
I knew you and I were connected, and here’s why.
He speaks to me through visions. I have had dreams as well, and I’ve been, I have the spiritual gift of prophecy, which is a scary one because you don’t understand it until you get into his word, until you actually allow him to reveal what that word means to you. And it took me a while. I don’t know about you, Caleb, but it actually took me up until November of this past year to really understand the whole design of some of these long periods of time where it looks like nothing’s happening. And for me, coming from the high-achieving world, um, coming from the traps of corporate America and that way of thinking, it’s it’s hard to um it’s hard to see it initially until you pause for presence, which is the tagline he had me write down for this year. It’s like, I need you to pause for presence. You’re going too fast. You are checking off boxes. That’s not what I want from you. What I want from you is your presence, your heart, and your dependence on me. And and dependence on God, I think, is a is a hot topic for us to maybe dive a little bit deeper in because it’s what we all search for, and yet what it requires of us is a lot harder.
Wouldn’t you agree? Uh in fact, one of my favorite verses in the scriptures is in Hebrews chapter 4, which says, Um, let us thoufore labor to enter into his rest. When God ceased from his works, we also cease from our works. And really, in order to be able to enter in the rest of God, the rest of the Spirit, we have to cease from our works. And it’s not just one day of the week. It’s supposed to be a lifestyle. And this lifestyle, we’re never gonna fully attain that on this side of eternity. We can we can do our best. We do our best to labor to enter that rest. Uh, Jesus was the perfect example, he is the perfect example, but all of us after Jesus and before Jesus, you know, we we are still falling short, all falling short of the glory of God. But we we do that attempt when we try our very best. So our our culture right now today, Sylvia, and I’m really curious, you know, when our audience listens to this episode, this podcast, this conversation, what they think about as well. Our world, our audience, all of us, myself included, you included, as well, too. We we struggle with yielding control. We struggle with yielding, knowing everything. And because when we’re in that construct, that culture is placed, saying, Oh, you’ve got to know everything, and you’ve got to know, like even the disciples to Jesus, like, Master, when are these things gonna happen? He’s like, it’s not for you to know the times and seasons by which the Father is set by his own authority. But I want you to what in Jerusalem? I want you to wait in Jerusalem. See, that that’s where the power fell, and that’s where humanity got it wrong at the Tower of Babel was they tried to let us make a ladder to heaven to be like God. Well, you know, we can be made in God’s image, but we’re not going to be like God. That’s where the that’s where the problems began. But when we wait on God and we push aside all the busyness, all the distractions, all the striving, then the spirit can fall. Then that’s when our soul and our body are put in government underneath the governance of the spirit. Like David said, Why, O my soul, are you downcast? Hope in God. Who’s talking? It’s not his soul, it’s his spirit. Anyways.
Yeah, and I and we have to remind ourselves that for those listening on the other end of this, that there is that conflict. I mean, Paul did talk about it in Galatians 5.17. The sins of the flesh, the temptations are very strong within us as human beings to do all this achievement, to do all this self-sufficiency, because that is a sin of the flesh to a degree, because you’re not falling in line with being spirit-led. And being spirit-led is the other side of that conflict. And both sides are pulling, especially during pivotal moments of our life. That’s when what I call the ego identity shows up in a very big pivotal moment. Like I had a very big pivotal moment in 2012 when six doctors walked into my hospital room. I had a choice. I could either rely on medical science, which was very doubtful I would survive the night, or I could surrender to our Lord.
And I chose surrender. And it was my first experience of full surrender, where I just said, I obviously have zero control in this situation.
I think he knew that I needed something big like that to get my attention because he’d been trying to get my attention for a while, and I had been too busy doing instead of being in presence, being in silence with him, and being in full alignment with spirit.
You know, so telling us how you have used those pivotal moments to discern uh what God is saying and what the world is telling you to do.
Well, I’m gonna use a perfect example from my years in the corporate world. Spent 10, 11 years in telecom as a salesperson in a retail environment, and one is one of the top salespeople in the company. So I got to go on the trips to Vegas to watch the Stanley Cup finals, I got to go to the baseball games, won the trophies, won the extra commission checks. I was one of the top performers and living in one of the wealthiest cities in Canada, in Kelowna, British Columbia, had my own house. Like for most people in their 30s, that’s that’s the dream to be able to own your own house at your own name and say that’s great. But for me, after 10 years, and I even the last few years before I moved on, I was, I was, there was this rumbling from the spirit. There’s something within me from God saying, okay, this isn’t going to be the place that you’re going to spend the rest of your life, because there’s a difference between doing something you’re good at and doing something that God has ordained you for. And I knew in the words of Martin Luther, the great Martin Luther in the Reformation, where he said, in front of a uh council and assembly that wanted to essentially make him recant from his books and teachings, he said, it is neither good nor safe to go against conscience. And so when I moved on from my career, I wrote my boss and I said, It’s neither good nor safe for me to go against my conscience. Because what happened was I’d reached the 10-year stage and I had a business proposal that I had vetted from many people higher up than my boss, presidents, uh, CEOs, senior executives of the telecom world, and the proposal was this. After 10 years of being one of the top performers, I felt like I’d earned the place to be able to choose my own shot. You know, Caleb, shoot your own shot. I’m gonna carve out a role in a company that doesn’t exist because that’s part of my design as a catalyst seer. That’s what you know, those are a couple of the seven design types I talk about within the DNA of design with the sealing. But I was like, okay, catalyst, I want to carve out a role here. And I said to my boss, I want to work six months online in Mexico, driving traffic online to the stores that are all across Western Canada that you have. And then the other six months that I’ll roll between the stores and support the teams as a leader because I feel like after 10 years, I shouldn’t just be another grunt on the front lines, I should be leading some of the troops. My numbers speak for themselves. And what he said to me, Sylvia, and the audience I know is gonna be leaning really close into this when they’re listening to this podcast. What he said to me, and I thought I was hearing a dinosaur from a bygone era, he said, online sales do not work. And I knew that after 10 years of giving loyal service to the company, that I was just another cod in the wheel. I didn’t have a unique design in the eyes of my boss. And I knew at that point, even though in the natural, the world says, oh, you have a five, eventually six-figure, comfy, cozy job, and you know, just RRSP and your house and you can stay comfortable. Caleb, just stay comfortable. But we’re not called to stay in the comfortable. We look in the scriptures and God’s people, men and women who walked with him. The comfort zone, that’s the cult of comfort. In fact, on Mount Sinai, it was only a few kilometers away between where Moses went up to the mountain with Joshua to receive the law and the commandments and the golden calf that was at the foot of Mount Sinai. Comfort and God’s presence were only a few kilometers away. So for me, I made my choice. I’m gonna move on. So I did. And I’m here in Mexico as of three years now as a resident, running two of my own businesses as a digital nomad, because I went not against my conscience, because go against conscience is neither right nor safe. It’s a decision. It’s the same decision that the people of God had on Mount Carmel, where Elijah said, How long will you waver between two opinions? Choose this day whom you will serve. So to audience, I encourage you right now, men and women across the United States, across Canada, across Mexico and the world, you’re listening to me and Sylvia right now, make a decision. Choose this day whom you’re going to serve, a cult of comfort or God’s voice.
So I know it’s meant for someone on the other side that is currently in a pivotal moment, whatever that may be. It could be grief, it could be divorce, it could be a job, you know, choosing your purpose, your God-given purpose, your essence, being spirit-led or being led by your flesh. And when you’re led by the flesh, let me just be very clear with those listening on the other side, you will stay stuck in these circumstances longer than you want to, longer than the Lord wants you to stay stuck in those circumstances because he does hear your prayers, he hears you every time you speak to him. But you have to let go of your need to control your circumstances in order for him to step in and guide you out of there. It’s a choice, it’s a choice that we make. And it’s interesting as you were talking again, the alignment is just eerie. When I faced those six doctors, I worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. I was their top saleswoman in the country at the time that was happening. And I, like you, had a six-figure salary. I own my own home. I was a single mother with a young child, and I faced a choice. I faced the choice of other either following God’s commands to move to Austin and marry the person I had prayed for that he was gifting me at the moment, or I could stay in the comfort of a six-figure salary in South Texas, making a lot of money, owning lots of property, being a woman in my own standing, but I would be losing out on the path that he had for me, because he needed me to be stripped of that identity first, yeah so that he could form and remind me of who he had created me to be, because we’re all fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Lord. Yeah, and that light that we carry. This way at the beginning of the podcast, I say, Hey, light bringers, we all bring light in this world. We all have his light within us. God is light, and scripture says it clearly. God is love. When we operate from that space, when we love God first, everything truly falls into alignment. And from that overflow is how we can support and love others unconditionally the way we receive love from Him. And that from that space, I was coming from. But it’s easy, Caleb, and you and I both know how easy it is to fall into old patterns because the desires of the flesh are they’re strong. We get tempted day in and day out by the enemy, right? So I’m sure you, because you have been stepping in into your light with God, you’ve come under spiritual attack. Can you kind of share with us how you how you see the enemy of life coming? What strategy has he used, and how have you battled it?
That’s a really good, that’s a good gear to get into here. Really, it’s a good sign. It is a good sign when you have opposition. Be wary when all men and women speak well of you. That’s a dangerous place to be. If everything around you, you take a look right now, and you’re like, wow, everything’s going really well. I don’t see and feel any opposition, that’s trouble. If there’s opposition somewhere, whether it’s through people, whether it’s through circumstances, whether it’s through just fill in the blanks, there’s opposition, that’s a good sign. Because you look at the ministry of Jesus on the earth and his disciples. We look at all the men and women, inventors, and entrepreneurs, trailblazers, leaders who changed history. And for my whole life as well, too. Whenever I faced opposition, there’s always an arsenal. Bethine an obstacle, there’s an arsenal. You know, I had an interaction with um some people, some of our audience may be familiar with this name, with David Hogan, um, you know, very, very amazing minister of the gospel. And years ago, I bumped into him at the gym, super jack guy. Like he goes, he’s talking about Mexico. He does ministry workout in the jungles of Mexico. He’s seen multiple people raised from the dead. Like really, really powerful ministry. But when I when I bumped into him many years ago, I explained to him where I was at in my life. I was like, man, David Hogan, I just I’ve gone to so many different people, I’ve prayed about it to the Lord, like uh like a very visual person in my dreams, but in my dream life, for many, many years I have these dreams where I feel like I’m being pinned down against my will or being chased or like I can’t speak, like it and I’ve prayed about it, I’ve pled the blood of Jesus over it, like I’ve bound, you know, like I’ve had my parents pray for me. We’ve all prayed about it, we’ve done all the generational work. What is happening? Why is this continuing to be allowed? And he sighed, he said, son, looked at me in the eyes and he said, You know, where’s a time I was driving down the road in Mexico, he said, down in Mexicali, and seven or eight principalities and demons jumped through the windshield of the car and threw me off the road trying to kill me. I’m like, okay, all right, buddy, we’re getting into the conversation. Like, it’s all so what? And he was like, When you don’t have opposition, you’re not worth your salt. But if you have opposition, you are worth your salt. He said, So keep pressing through and keep going and fire. And he just he was able to pray for me eventually in say, spirit of fire, spirit of counsel and might. And from that time, I can honestly say, from that time, that I’ve never had those experiences again in the night season where I felt like I was being pinned down against my will. This was many, many years over a decade of having this ailment against me. That I felt, okay, this isn’t me. I don’t watch those smuddy movies. I don’t look at that garbage yet. My dreams are filled with a story that’s not my own. And maybe somebody listening to this right now, you’re dreaming in a night season, you’re seeing visions or you’re experiencing things that aren’t you. That’s not your birthright. It’s an alien birthright, it’s their lies. So therefore, know that when you’re pressing through towards your purpose and you’re calling in God, there’s gonna be that opposition. But the spirit of counsel and power are upon you because the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you is quickening your mortal body. And part of how I got that breakthrough with with David was, you know, he said, Okay, I’m gonna, I’m gonna, we’re gonna part our ways here from the gym. But he said, In order for you to get the blessing, he said, here’s what I want you to do. He said, I want you to show up to because where he was ministering at a local church uh that night, uh church service, and say, Come to the very front after I’m finished speaking and remind me who you are, and then I’ll remember from the gym or whatever, like that. Okay, well, this was a stretch for me because really, and this is a long story for a different day, but that ministry, that church that he was speaking at had done a lot of wrong against myself and my family, a lot of stolen money, a lot of an uriah situation, and that had nothing to do with. Yeah, I’ve already prayed and forgiven. We’d walked the land, forgiven the ministry for what they had done against us. But the Lord knew that okay, I want, I want you, so I heard the Lord speaking to me. I want you to go. Follow this man’s wisdom and go and get the blessing, and stand there in the front, all in front of all the people that have betrayed you, that have gossiped about you, that have backstabbed you, stand there and get the blessing. And one of my friends who was there at the time witnessed it, and he was in the back of the audience, and he looked, and during worship service, everybody was like wanting to press in to like get close to David, right? Because he’s like this super big celebrity guy. But for me, I was just standing there just worshiping, and the next thing I knew, I felt someone like slapping me on the back. And it’s like, okay, who is that? And it was David, and he out of all the people who were trying to get his attention, trying to suck up, trying to get in front of him. I was just there worshiping. David was slapping me on the back, saying, fire, fire, fire. It was almost like he was wiping away those darts that were in my back, those knives, and just praying the Holy Ghost. And he actually, someone said that he put his arms over me, like you see, like in the Ark of the Covenant, those cherubim covering me and praying for me. And from that day onward, I had I had no more fear, not just in the night season, I had no more of those experiences, but no more fear of those lies that I come from that ministry. So I say all that to say someone listening right now may have been wronged by the system, the institutional system that has so far often fallen short of the example that Jesus taught and has a story similar to mine. But you have not lost your fire. You have not lost your fire in God, and you’re like, God, what does it look like? I’ve received this persecution, I’ve received this opposition from the enemy. Where do I go? And God has your back. So I declare over to you right now with a spirit of counsel and might be upon your purpose and your design, and no weapon forged against you shall prosper. Because Jesus is seated far above all principalities, powers, thrones, dominions of man, institutions. That includes governments, that includes the institutional church that has misrepresented his name over thousands of years, that includes workplaces, that includes families, because Jesus said, those who have left lands, homes, mother, brother, father, for the sake of the kingdom of God shall not lose their reward, but they shall be not light, not could, will be rewarded a hundred times over. That is your blessing.
And that is a blessing.
And we forget that because the enemy will twist those thoughts in our head. He will try to separate us from our heavenly father in every way, shape, and form he can. Um, he will attack the family unit like he did me. He attacked me so severely before I published my second manuscript of In Faith I Thrive, Finding Joy Through God’s Master Plan. And it came hard. It was in the season that I had just lost my father. My father died on Father’s Day, June of 2024. I had lost my second mother, my aunt, just six months before. 2024 was a hard year. And it was also a triumphant year in that no matter how hard it got, he came after my family. He came after my son and attacked very heavily. Uh, attacked my marriage, got me to look at my husband as the enemy instead of who was behind the scenes, right? And I kept surrounding myself by with people that were spirit-led. I knew that that was a strategy I could use against the enemy so that they could pray over me. And there came a moment, I have to just I’m I feel compelled to share this on the podcast. We were on a Girl Scout trip with my daughter, and things were going very badly with her. And a lot of conflict happened in that trip. And at the end, I was so desperate to um to share with someone the grief I was feeling, that the attack and the warfare I was experiencing. I reached out to Jennifer Pedini, who is the mother of one of the girls in our Girl Scout troop, who is a very beautiful soul, a beautiful Christian woman. I’m getting emotional because it was that emotional. And I want people to understand you know a beautiful soul when you see one. She is kind, she she has the spirit of the Lord, she’s very good and faithful-based. You feel that from this individual, and yet I’ve seen people be cruel to someone like Jennifer before, you know, and I reached out to her and I was walking with her and I said, Jennifer, can you please pray for me? I’m experiencing this spiritual warfare. And then she reminded me of the armor of God, you know. So she took me back to Ephesians, and I just sat there and she said a prayer over me, and then I I just hugged her and I just couldn’t stop holding her. The girls were a little bit like taken aback. My daughter saw it and was like, Mom, are you okay? And I’m like, No, I’m not, but I will be. I will be if I remind myself who I am first in God. And in most years, I still didn’t believe in his identity in me, right? So that I didn’t have the heart to believe yet. I believed and trusted God and I had that relationship with him, but I didn’t truly depend on him and that identity. I was still caught up in the achievement identity, right? Because I was still coming off. See, the relationship between my earthly father and I was all about achievement. That was the connection, and that’s how the enemy comes in.
Yeah, very suddenly.
Sometimes he doesn’t attack the behavior, he attacks the identity, and you see it in how he tempts uh Christ, Jesus, in the wilderness, right after he gets baptized. You know, he gets baptized and he gets sent into the wilderness for 40 days. He’s at his physical weak weakest because he’s fasting, right? Yeah, he is emotionally and spiritually fasting as well, and yet there’s Satan, yeah, just right there. Like, if you are the Son of God, then you’ll jump off this cliff. And what does Jesus say? He what is the only authority that Satan understands? The word of God. Yeah, he knows it very well though. See, and so that’s why we always tell people don’t just pray, get into his word, because it’s the only authority the enemy understands, and that’s what Jennifer was telling me. She was like, So we get into the word, don’t let him get you out of purpose. It’s because you’re about to step fully into who God created you to be, yeah, that he is attacking and he will attack, but he will flee from you when you use the word of God because he does not have authority. God has authority over him, and you see that in Job when he’s the very first chapter of Job is Satan and God are talking about Job. They’re in each other’s presence, and he’s almost asking for permission. And what does God tell him? God tells Satan, you can sift him. Yes, you cannot take his soul, his soul is not yours to take. Yeah, so I am reminded of that when I come under attack. I am reminded that number one, I am the daughter of a king. Yeah, I am seated at the table in heaven, I’m a co-heirer with Christ. He told me that. I am one of his chosen few to advance his kingdom, and as such, there is a responsibility that that carries. Paul talks about it a lot in the New Testament. In fact, Paul talks about somebody who came under spiritual warfare continuously. He was in the Roman prison half the time he wrote the New Testament, and yet he likes trials and tribulations because it’s when he’s closest to God. Because when you get close to God, you feel his presence very pronounced in those dark chapters when you seek him.
Yeah. Right? That’s right. And right before the promised land, before Israel entered the promised land, they had tribes that would try to attack them. They had the Amalekites, they had the Amorites, they had opposition, they had the Canaanites, all the different heights. And really the difference was between the ten spies and the two spies. Ten spies said we need to go back to Egypt. The two spies, Joshua and Caleb, said, we can take the land, because God has given us this land, because we are not grasshoppers. And that’s where it begins. Sylvia, you’re right. It’s our identity when Satan tries to question our identity in God. We have one of two, three choices. We can either continue to listen, we can try to cast him out, or we can do the third thing which Jesus did, not just cast him out, evict him. We must evict the voice of the enemy by the word of God and do it and also not also the word with the spirit, because it says that after the wilderness, it says that Jesus returned in what? In the power of the Spirit. Doesn’t say he returned in the power of the Torah or the power of the Word, although the Word of God is important, because we need to keep back then Jesus did not have the full Bible and the disciples didn’t. He had the Torah, but he returned in the power of the Spirit. Therefore, the Spirit and the Word together. That’s why he was called grace and truth together. The Son of God that became word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. When we combine grace and truth, it’s like gasoline and fire. There’s a dunamis power, there’s an explosion. And when we are standing in our identity, our DNA of design, this is why I highlight this in the C link, the seven design types. And by the way, just for our believing audience, followers of Jesus out there, the seven design types is actually from it’s from Romans. It’s from Romans 12. And I use that language on purpose: the activator, the seer, the navigator, the catalyst, the builder, the steward, the healer. I use those phrases to speak this common language like Jesus did. When Jesus, I was just watching a lovely chosen, by the way, great show. Watching the chosen last night, and Jesus is having the, you know, just the feeding the 5,000. And what happened in there? Well, Jesus spoke in parables. He didn’t say, it says this in the Torah, he spoke in parables, mustard seeds, grains of sand, pearls of great price, because his audience were Jew and Gentile. Therefore, our design type, the reason why I say seven design types and not okay, seven gifts of the spirit is because my audience aren’t just Christians. People of all kinds. And that’s what Jesus came for. He came for to seek the lost. And you know, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. God’s a giver, and therefore we need to find ways to give. So maybe you’re listening to this right now and you’re like, I don’t know how to reach that uh classmate in my school who uh has a different faith than I do. Try speaking in parables. Try asking the boat, hey, you know, do you ever dream of the night season? Or um, you know, what are those sea links that you’ve seen in your in your life around you and your day-by-day that’s speaking to you? And just open up some of those conversations and see what happens and you speak in parables because Jesus, he was a master at speaking in parables. That’s how Jesus spoke and ministered.
Yeah, and when you speak in when you share examples like he did, you know, the example of the tree and the seed, and how you know, where is that seed falling on? Is it falling on rocky ground? What does that mean? You know, and I remember like the disciples ain’t taking it literally. They were like, no, don’t take it literally. Take it for the imagery he’s sharing with you. Like in one my coaching guide was a tree, it’s the formation of a tree. And I got this download from Christ uh during the writing of my first manuscript in 2020. I was on a nature walk because well that’s all you could do in 2020, and the download started. And luckily, I had a notebook with me and I and I screwed furiously. And now he said, take that coaching tree, Sylvia, and I want you to to give it the spiritual upgrade. This is the psychology um part of it, right? That to help people from the coaching perspective and the process of coaching, right? First, we have significant emotional events and they lead to the formation of beliefs, the root of the tree. And then as you go up the tree, the main bark of it, that’s the conscious ability, the mind, the thoughts, the choices, the attitudes, you know, the things that we actually have a semblance of control over, right? That you can make a different choice, that you can choose, that you can reframe a thought, right? Um, but as you allow those thoughts to um persist, if you don’t stop it at the thought, it becomes a feeling. And if it’s a negative thought, it becomes a negative feeling. And we don’t keep those feelings bottled up inside of us, right? We react to them or we act on them, depending on if it’s a feeling of love, which we can certainly have, because like Paul said, there’s two sides to us. We have a loving side and we have a desire side that has all the negative parts of us, the dark and the light, right? We always think of all the so if we’re gonna talk in parables, like think May the fourth is coming up, you know. We think Star Wars. May the fourth be with you. May the fourth be with you, and then you have the the dark side, the scyth, and the light side, the Jedi.
Yeah.
You know, popular TV shows have depicted this for thousands of, I mean, like for many, many years.
Chronicles of Narnia, they’ve got Aslan, you’ve got uh Lucy and the wardrobe, we have these things that speaking all the time.
We know that C.S. Lewis was a Christian, though he was an atheist. So he was you know, he was an atheist turned Christian. And so yes, we can we can say thank you to Token for that one. Um, and somebody else, there was another author friend of theirs um in in that meeting, but that’s beside the point. But so moving forward, we we we all have this, you know, these lights. And so then he said, you know, when when you react to these feelings, Sylvia, you have the circumstances of your life. That’s the leaf, that’s what we produce in the tree, right? But if we change the root of it, everything changes. That’s right, right? So then in November of 2025, I had a major conflict that arose, major spiritual warfare, major, major. And what what transpired were three weeks of silence from our Lord and in it he was teaching me, training me, refining me under fire. I needed to learn the lesson of total dependence on our Lord, and I had yet to learn that. I didn’t understand what that looked like until he was silent for three weeks. It was deafening for someone like me who feels him in daily interactions, and yet I stayed in the word because I knew the enemy was attacking. He was using that opportunity, it was a prime opportunity to attack my identity in our Lord. And I had a very good person surrounding me at that moment that said, No, Sylvia, your identity is rooted in Christ. You have been someone that has inspired and empowered me to step into that identity because of your immense faith. So do not let the enemy attack, he’s attacking you right now. And I heard that loud and clear. It was it was as if God was using his messenger, which is how he also communicates with me, right? And then I started to get into the word because I had listened to a podcast interview that I had done months before. I was editing it, and embedded in that interview was the clue that God wanted me to see. Interestingly enough, he highlighted a certain thing as another way he communicates with me, not just in visions, but in certain words pop out and are very revealing to me. And he said, I need you to go back in your notes because I take journals, notes. Every time I sit with scripture, I write the scripture down and I write what it means to me and what God is revealing to me. And in those notes, is I went back to the time when the attack occurred, where I was and why I was being attacked. I was about to discover and something very powerful within me, and it was about the dependence factor, it was about producing the fruit of the spirit. And how do you do that? You have to depend on being spirit-led. You can’t be, you have to deny the desires of the flesh, and you have to, you know, repent and stay obedient to Christ through his word. And it was all these concepts that were come, you know, compounding one on top of the other, and it was sharing and revealing to me what I had missed the first go around. Interestingly enough, and when I finally started to see it, I was like, oh my goodness, there it is. That’s what he was trying to tell me, and yet that’s where the enemy stepped in. And now I know, based on that, what I started to do was I started to put up scripture very intentionally throughout my house to protect it, you know, because I was being attacked at every opening in my home, and I had to set up boundaries with the word of God, and I put it on my daughter’s door, the one that I knew he was attacking her identity in that way. So I put that. I put the one on anxiety on my son’s door because that’s how he was attacking his identity. You know, he was saying that he was a loser because he was anxious. So I put Philippians 4 6 on his door, and I put 2 Timothy on my daughter’s door, the one that says, God did not give us a spirit of timidness, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Because he was attacking her identity. Uh, Vivi was starting to go into her shell, and that’s not who Vivian is, that’s not who he created her to be. Vivian’s a leader, you know, and so it was like, no, he gave you this spirit. You have to remind yourself. And I and I tell my children, you are first and foremost a daughter of a king, a son of a king. Do not forget that the devil has been kicked out of heaven, he doesn’t have a place there, he does not have authority like you have authority. You have authority because you are his first.
Yes, yep.
Okay, and we have to stand in that authority, we have to stand in that identity, firmly in that identity when the attack occurs.
So I just man, I’m just I knew we were meant to to meet, you and I, Caleb.
Yeah, the timing of it is really interesting, and uh because it’s coming like slowly has been revealing itself since November of last year, you know, and we’re almost coming to like six months from that moment, right?
It’s cool. Yeah, we I just thought you were talking, I was thinking of something that I wanted to leave off on from our conversation, and that is the scripture verse of Exodus and. 1 Peter that are connected, where it says, You’ve been called a kingdom of priests unto God. Here is where the tragedy happens on Mount Sinai. Moses is in the mountain. The people of God, men and women, children, families, are all at the foot of the mountain. And Moses says, Come up, let’s speak to God. God says, Let’s come up on the mountain and God will speak to us. And the people say something very tragic. They say, No, Moses, we want you to go up for us. We’re afraid of God. We don’t want to go up. We want you to go up. And in that moment, the abdication to mediation began. The abdication to Moses, you do all the talking for us. We don’t want to go up. And then that led to the golden calf. Fast forward after Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, tearing the veil, becoming our great high priest. Then Peter says in the New Testament, the same scripture, almost verbatim in Exodus, you are a kingdom of priests again unto God. And this is part of the Great Commission. This is part of the body of Christ. That it’s not just one priest that goes in to offer the sacrifice in the Holy of Holies and the nation has to wait on the priest. No, no, no, no, no. The first thing that happened when the cross, Jesus gave up his spirit and said into your hands, Father, commit my spirit. The first thing that happened was that humongous veil that no man could rip, no man could move, was torn from top to bottom. And at that point, it was also a fulfillment of what Jesus has said to the Samaritan woman in John chapter 4. Believe me, when my time is coming, yet it’s here, when you’re not going to go to the temple in Jerusalem, you’re not going to be on this mountain in Samaria, the way that you Samaritans worship, but it’s going to be me. I am the temple. I am the temple. And this is something that unfortunately it’s a tragedy, especially in the Western world, that the body of Christ still believes that you have to look at your pastor, look at your apostle or prophet or a mediator to talk to God before you know that is alive in the pit of hell. That’s actually living under the old covenant. And I’ll even say this because I’ve been to Israel before. The same people that still believe they need to look to a pastor and sit in a Constantinian system and look to mediation for their worship and their interaction with God are in the same mindset of the Jews who are at the Wailing Wall who are still waiting for a Messiah that’s already come. You are the temple. I am the temple. So don’t let anyone condemn you, audience, if you’re out there that, oh, you’re not in fellowship. Yeah, you are. You have two or three people around you. You are in fellowship who call upon his name. You don’t have to be in a synagogue, in a temple, in a structure, because Jesus actually said, You see these beautiful stones, disciples? Oh, yeah, Master. It’s a great building. It’s really rich. Look at all these stones. Yeah, not one of these stones is going to be left on top of another. The whole system that had been for thousands of years built into the Judeo system of the belief system in God and Jehovah was completely pushed aside and Jesus built a new covenant. In fact, it was not really, it was a new covenant, it was also restored to the old ways, the ancient way, which is the Garden of Eden. Because in the Garden of Eden, you have the tree of life. There was no mediation, there were no fig leaves, there were no coverings. It was between God and man and woman walking face to face. So, audience, you hear this right now. If you don’t get anything else out of this conversation that I’ve had with Sylvia, Sylvia having with me and you and the audience, get this. You are a priest. You are a kingdom of priests unto God. And it doesn’t matter where you are. You call on his name where two or three are gathered, he is there in the midst.
Yes, yes. And he reminded me to say as you were speaking, abide in me as I abide in you. And like he said to the woman in Samaria, which is something he brings me back constantly, when you drink from me, you will never be thirsty. And that is dependence on our Lord in a nutshell. So, Carol, I just want to thank you for being a guest on Released Out Reveal Purpose. It’s been such a powerful testimony, powerful um words spoken. And I know that he was in the room with us. He was guiding both you and I in what we were speaking because it was meant for someone on the other end of this interview that needs to hear this, that needs to hear that religion is not where you find them. Yeah. He hated religion when he was he called the Pharisees hypocrites because the priests, you know, they they are not who we That’s not it. That’s not it. We have direct access to our Lord. Yes, he’s seeking relationship from you. He doesn’t care where you’re at, as long as you speak to him directly. That’s right. And he’s only seeking that from you, and and no person can bring you to faith. Only God can do that through his word. And that’s where he reveals himself to you. You see his character, you see his goodness, you see when you reflect and you spend time with our Lord, you see his hand, his protective hand in every step of your journey. And I know I’ve done that, I know Caleb has done that, I know plenty of you have done that, but all of us are still seeking that alignment. We’re seeking that fulfillment. Ladies and gentlemen, that fulfillment is within you. That’s right. Because he’s within you. So don’t forget that. And um thank you, Sylvia. Any any way that we can kind of connect with you? How can we find you? If we wanted to work with you, maybe get the the sea links that you were discussing.
Yeah, absolutely. First of all, Sylvia, thank you for having me as a guest at the show. I believe it’s a very powerful time. And I encourage our audience, if you listen to this the first time through the loop, listen to it over and over again because the Holy Spirit, God will reveal to you many different things at different times. So thank you first off, Sylvia. Secondly, uh, for the C link, people can connect with me further through CalebMatthews.net. I’ll share all the links. But on CalebMatthews.net is a specific link called the DNA of design quiz, which I referenced a few times on the show here with Sylvia, where you can discover which of the seven design types you are. Are you the activator, the seer, the catalyst, the navigator, the builder, the steward, the healer? Which one of those are you? And it’s a free quiz, only takes five minutes. There’s no cost to it whatsoever. And then we’d love to hear your results. If you want to follow along with some of the teaching and encouragement and motivation, I’ve got my YouTube channel, so youtube.com slash at the C Link. If you want to follow up on my newsletter, I’m on Beehive. I have my newsletter called Seek the Link. So Seek the Link, and I do it only twice a month, so I won’t spam your email, I promise, but I talk a little bit about some of the C links that we can notice from the four pillars, DNA of design, uh, understanding mysteries of ICs and history speaks, eye of I principle. And finally, if you want to work with me, I do one-on-one link up coaching sessions. So if you’re like, okay, I love the complimentary content and motivational stuff, but I actually want to sit down and actually pay Caleb to do a one-on-one comprehensive link up session. I do one-hour sessions, paid sessions, we’re all customized based on your results of what design type you got, based on where you’re at in your life. And we do we do a one-on-one and we do some design architect coaching and link up sessions. So there’s that. And then if I can, Sylvia, just in closing, I really would love to be able to release a blessing to our audience if we have to do that. Absolutely. Yes, we do. I’d love to do that. So where you’re tuning into right now, ladies and gentlemen, wherever you are in the earth, whether you’re in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, no matter what part of the world you’re in right now and country, speak to this. May you reach the purpose to which you’ve been created by God. May you see God in every vista, every sunrise, every blade of grass, every smell of coffee, every taste of chocolate, every laughter in a child’s voice, every dream in the night season, everything that you put your hand to, may it prosper and multiply. May the seed that you’ve sown reap a bountiful harvest, because in due season you will reap if you faint not. You will reach the purpose to which you’ve been created, spirit, soul, and body through the DNA of your design. And like the when King David at the end of his life, it said he went to his father’s full of days. I bless you with that. Your calling on the earth is not going to end an hour or a minute or a second sooner than it should. You will reach the purpose to which you’ve been created by God. May you be blessed with the spirit of counsel and light through Jesus Christ.
Be the light like Caleb and I have been the lights, even despite the attacks on our identity throughout the years, uh, attacks on our you know, relationships, on our health, on our emotional and individual well-beings. Know that when you are being attacked, that means you are on purpose and on mission. You are on the right path. Do not quit, keep going. Do seek God, do seek his protection. He does have protection that he will give you when you ask of him, when you seek him with all your heart, you will always find our Lord. He is good, he is kind, he’s faithful, and he is ready to help you as long as you ask for it. He will never impose himself on you. You have got to make that choice all on your own to invite him into a relationship. And when you do that, believe me when I tell you, you will feel at peace. You will feel love like you have never felt before. And you won’t ever want to go back to that old identity that you once carried, you know, as an added skin because it’s not who you are, it’s just what your circumstances made you to be. And now you have a choice, you have a choice, a very powerful choice, to either stay there or seek him and invite him into relationship. So it’s your choice. And um, I just wanna thank everyone for being and listening on the show. And Caleb, thank you so much for joining us.
And everybody have a wonderful and blessed rest of your day. Love y’all now. Bye now.
